Tokyo Electron Korea, KT Sign 50MW Renewable Energy Supply Agreement
Tokyo Electron Korea and KT Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding for a 50-megawatt renewable energy direct power purchase agreement. This deal, the largest of its kind in South Korea by a foreign semiconductor equipment company, aims to help Tokyo Electron Korea transition its key business sites to 100% renewable electricity. KT will begin supplying 15 megawatts in September, gradually expanding to 50 megawatts to cover the company's full annual electricity demand.

SK Telecom, KT, LG U+ subscribers to have access to basic data on phones after monthly limit expires
South Korea's three major mobile carriers (SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+) will provide basic data access at a reduced speed of 400 kilobits per second to subscribers after they exhaust their monthly high-speed data caps. This initiative, agreed upon with the Ministry of Science and ICT, aims to protect communication rights and is expected to benefit 7.17 million users, saving them 322.1 billion won annually. Additionally, the government will mandate expanded voice and text allowances for elderly users (65 and older) with limited service plans.
