Ekterly reduces anxiety tied to HAE attacks, new study finds
A new study found that Ekterly (sebetralstat) effectively and quickly reduced anxiety associated with hereditary angioedema (HAE) swelling attacks compared to a placebo. The KONFIDENT Phase 3 trial data showed that Ekterly led to significantly greater and faster anxiety relief, especially in patients with moderate-to-extreme anxiety, with improvements in physical symptoms correlating with reduced emotional distress. Researchers highlighted the ongoing need to address anxiety comprehensively alongside physical symptoms to improve HAE patients' quality of life.
