SES Launches Multi-Orbit Satellite Connectivity Across LATAM Airbus and Embraer Fleet

Embraer said on Aug. 4, 2026 that Colombia’s Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana signed a contract to buy two KC-390 Millennium aircraft. The deal includes mission equipment, an integrated services and support package, and an offset program. Embraer said the planes will support cargo, troop transport, humanitarian missions, and air-to-air refueling.

Colombia’s Aerospace Force ordered two Embraer KC-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft in a $366.4m fixed-price contract signed Aug. 4, 2026. Deliveries are set for 2029 and 2030, with mission equipment, services and support, and an offset program. The KC-390 can carry a 26-ton payload and support transport, airdrop, and aerial refuelling, according to FAC and Embraer.

Embraer said Colombia signed a contract to buy two KC-390 Millennium transport aircraft, Reuters reported. The deal supports Colombia’s military fleet modernization under outgoing President Gustavo Petro. Embraer said the jets will include connectivity for operations with Saab’s Gripen fighters, plus mission equipment, an integrated services and support package, and an offset program.

Satellite operator, SES, has been selected by LATAM Airlines to provide multi-orbit inflight connectivity across the carrier’s growing fleet of Airbus and Embraer aircraft. More than 60 aircraft – spanning the Airbus A320NEO, A321XLR and Embraer E195-E2 – will be equipped with SES services in the coming years.

Brazil’s Embraer, Lockheed Martin and Airbus submitted proposals for India’s planned acquisition of 60 medium tactical transport aircraft worth about ₹1 lakh crore, after a DAC approval in March and following the An-32 crash. The IAF seeks replacements for its ageing An-32 fleet, citing sustainment issues and new logistics and border-mobilization needs.
