Glenmark Pharma US arm agrees to $15.28 million settlement with Humana over antitrust lawsuits

Shares of Centene (CNC), UnitedHealth (UNH), CVS (CVS), and Humana (HUM) fell after-hours Tuesday after a report that the Trump administration plans to end a $3.6B federal subsidy for Medicare Part D plans post-2026. The subsidy helps keep premiums low for 25M enrollees. The loss of support could pressure margins and enrollment for insurers offering stand-alone Part D plans, though some beneficiaries may shift to Medicare Advantage plans.

Glenmark USA denies all allegations. The company said the amount is already provided for in its financials and expects no significant financial impact.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals’ U.S. unit said, in an exchange filing, it reached a settlement with Humana to resolve antitrust litigation tied to consolidated generic-drug price-fixing claims in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The settlement totals $15.28 million plus interest, paid in two installments. Glenmark denied the allegations and said the amount was already booked in its financial statements.

CMS said Medicare Advantage payments to private insurers will rise 2.48% next year, implying about $13 billion in additional payments, and 4.98% after risk-score trends. UNH, HUM, CNC and ELV shares rose 5% to 11% in extended trading. CVS and MOH also gained, after a January proposal for a near-flat increase.
