OpenWorld signs non‑binding term sheet for up to $1 billion tokenized financing of a solar‑powered AI computing network

OpenWorld, Inc. announced a non‑binding term sheet with Meridian to create a tokenized financing program of up to $1 billion. The capital will fund the purchase and deployment of solar panels, Tesla Powerwall batteries and GPU‑equipped AI computers at homes, schools, hospitals and commercial campuses. Test installations are slated for the last three months of 2026, with the first commercial site expected in early 2027. If the deal closes, Meridian’s founder Josh Raffaelli will join OpenWorld’s board.

The financing structure would let investors buy tokenized stakes in real‑world energy‑backed AI infrastructure, potentially expanding OpenWorld’s revenue base. The company expects the program to generate hosting payments for homeowners and revenue shares for commercial hosts once operational, according to the press release.

  • 1The term sheet provides for up to $1 billion of tokenized financing.
  • 2Meridian holds exclusive rights to a reserved inventory of more than 160,000 Tesla Powerwall units.
  • 3The inventory is sufficient to support roughly 80,000 homes.
  • 4OpenWorld plans an initial rollout to 10,000 homes.
  • 5Test installations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
  • 6The first commercial site is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
