Align Technology launches $270 million accelerated share repurchase

Align Technology entered an accelerated share repurchase (ASR) agreement with Goldman Sachs for $270 million of common stock. The transaction will initially acquire about 1.44 million shares and is slated to settle by Dec 29 2026. Align expects the ASR to bring total 2026 repurchases to roughly $500 million, funded with cash on hand. The ASR is part of a broader $1 billion buyback program.

The company says the $270 million ASR, together with prior buybacks, will raise total 2026 repurchases to about $500 million, reducing cash balances and potentially supporting the share price (the company expects to finance the ASR with cash on hand).
