Boeing cuts production outlook and delays free-cash-flow target

Boeing said it will miss its 737 production and aircraft delivery goals this year, while CEO Kelly Ortberg pushed the company’s $10 billion free-cash-flow target to 2029. Boeing reported an adjusted quarterly loss of 34 cents per share and expects $3 billion in free cash flow next year, sending its shares down nearly 10%. The company also delayed reaching a 737 production rate of 47 jets a month until early 2027.

The lower delivery outlook and delayed cash generation reduce near-term expectations for Boeing’s recovery. Jefferies analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu said Boeing’s $3 billion free-cash-flow outlook for next year was below Wall Street’s $5.5 billion consensus projection.
