GSK reports 61% response rate for Ris-Rez in relapsed small cell lung cancer

On October 18, 2026, GSK reported global phase Ib data for investigational antibody-drug conjugate Ris-Rez in relapsed extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. The confirmed objective response rate was 61% at 8 mg/kg, compared with 32% at 6 mg/kg, and GSK is evaluating the higher dose in the global phase III EMBOLD SCLC-301 trial. The company will present the findings at the ESMO Congress 2026, while severe treatment-related adverse events occurred in 42% of patients at 8 mg/kg and 15% at 6 mg/kg.

The results support continued development of Ris-Rez and establish the 8 mg/kg dose for the ongoing phase III study. Investors will have to weigh the higher response rate against the greater incidence of severe treatment-related adverse events at that dose.

  • 1The phase Ib analysis reported a confirmed objective response rate of 61% at 8 mg/kg, based on 11 of 18 evaluable patients.
  • 2The confirmed objective response rate at 6 mg/kg was 32%, based on 7 of 22 evaluable patients.
  • 3The study included 50 patients and had a median follow-up of 100.5 days.
  • 4Severe treatment-related adverse events affected 42% of patients in the 8 mg/kg group and 15% in the 6 mg/kg group.
  • 5Interstitial lung disease occurred in 2% of patients, or 1 out of 50, and the reported case was grade 2.
  • 6The results are scheduled for presentation at the ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid, Spain.
