Seadrill wins Indonesia rig contract and extends three offshore drilling deals

Seadrill secured awards and extensions covering four offshore drilling units in Indonesia, Malaysia, Angola and the U.S. Gulf. West Carina received an approximately $420 million Indonesian contract for a firm 880-day term starting in the first half of 2027, while West Capella received Malaysian extensions and Sonangol Libongos was extended in Angola through January 2030. Sevan Louisiana also won a 25-day Kosmos contract beginning in November 2026, and Seadrill said over 85% of available 2027 drillship days are contracted.

The contracts increase Seadrill’s contracted operating coverage and revenue visibility. CEO Samir Ali said the company expects the awards to support stronger earnings and free cash flow.
