Micron to pay Netlist $600 million for five‑year memory‑patent license

Netlist and Micron Technology have reached a settlement that grants Micron a five‑year license to Netlist’s server DIMM and high‑bandwidth memory patents. Micron will make quarterly payments of $30 million starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continuing through the third quarter of 2031, for a total of $600 million. The agreement ends years of litigation between the two companies.

The deal creates a predictable $30 million cash outflow each quarter for Micron, while securing rights to essential memory technologies. Netlist receives a sizable cash infusion that can fund its operations and future R&D.
