HDFC Bank Deputy Managing Director Kaizad Bharucha to resign effective Dec 31 2026

HDFC Bank announced that Deputy Managing Director Kaizad Bharucha will step down at the close of business on 31 December 2026, subject to Reserve Bank of India approval. The bank’s Governance, Nomination and Remuneration Committee and board accepted his request in meetings on 16 October and 17 October 2026 and will forward it to the RBI. Bharucha, who joined the lender in October 1995 and became Deputy MD in April 2023, is leaving as the bank finalises the transition to new CEO Anup Bagchi, approved by the RBI on 27 October 2026.

The departure removes a long‑serving senior executive from the bank’s leadership team, adding to the recent CEO succession and potentially affecting continuity of credit‑risk oversight. Investors will watch the RBI’s approval process and the appointment of Bharucha’s replacement for any impact on governance perception.
