Ameren lifts 2026 EPS guidance and unveils $38.1 billion five‑year investment plan

Ameren Corporation reported third‑quarter earnings of $2.42 per share and raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $5.35‑$5.55. The utility also announced a $38.1 billion capital plan for 2027‑2031, targeting 13.3% compound annual rate‑base growth and 8%‑10% EPS CAGR through 2031. The plan includes about 7.7 GW of new generation capacity and will be financed with roughly $5 billion of equity and $5.2 billion of new long‑term debt. Large‑load growth is expected to support the earnings targets.

The higher guidance suggests stronger earnings potential for shareholders, while the sizable equity and debt issuance may dilute existing owners and increase leverage, according to the company's financing outlook.
