Baytex Energy reports Q3 2026 results and lifts three‑year production outlook

Baytex Energy Corp. posted third‑quarter 2026 production of 71,606 barrels of oil‑equivalent per day, a 5% increase year‑over‑year, and generated $332 million of adjusted funds flow and $139 million of free cash flow. The company raised its 2026 exploration and development budget to $665 million and now projects 8%‑10% annual production growth through 2029, targeting 76,000‑79,000 boe/d in 2027 and about 92,000 boe/d by 2029. It also repurchased 24 million shares for $149 million, paid a $16 million dividend and ended the quarter with $522 million of net cash.

The company expects higher production and cash generation, which should sustain its share‑repurchase program and dividend, supporting total shareholder return. The upgraded outlook also implies higher future revenue if oil prices remain stable.
