FCC approves Amazon Leo's $11.57 billion acquisition of Globalstar

The Federal Communications Commission gave its approval for Amazon Leo's purchase of Globalstar on October 27, 2026. The transaction is valued at $11.57 billion. Amazon Leo, which has launched more than 300 satellites since April 2025, will add Globalstar's two dozen satellites to its existing constellation of over 200. The deal is intended to accelerate Amazon's low‑orbit satellite network toward a target of about 3,200 satellites by 2029.

The regulatory clearance removes a key obstacle, allowing Amazon to integrate Globalstar's assets and expand its satellite broadband service, which could boost future revenue streams. Globalstar shareholders will receive cash for the acquisition, affecting the company’s valuation.
