Evaxion reports 89% immune response rate for personalized melanoma vaccine in phase‑2 trial

Evaxion A/S presented new biomarker data from its phase‑2 trial of the personalized vaccine EVX‑01 in advanced melanoma. The data showed that 89% of the vaccine targets triggered an immune response and that neoantigen‑specific T‑cell responses were detected ex vivo, mainly CD4+ cells with CD8+ responses in half of the patients. A statistical analysis found a significant association (p < 0.001) between the AI‑Immunology™ platform’s predictions and the observed T‑cell responses. The results were shared at the SITC 2026 Annual Meeting in Phoenix.

The company says the findings validate the predictive power of its AI‑Immunology™ platform and de‑risk the EVX‑01 program, which could support future partnerships or regulatory progress.

  • 189% of vaccine targets triggered an immune response.
  • 2Neoantigen‑specific T‑cell responses were detected ex vivo, dominated by CD4+ cells, with CD8+ responses in half of patients.
  • 3A significant association (p < 0.001) was found between AI‑Immunology™ predictions and actual T‑cell responses.
  • 4The data were presented at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 2026 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • 5Evaxion described the results as further validation of its AI‑Immunology™ platform.
