Fresenius signs exclusive development deal with WuXi Biologics for up to 37 biosimilars

Fresenius announced an exclusive agreement with contract research organization WuXi Biologics that gives it option rights to develop up to 37 biosimilar candidates over the next decade. The partnership could expand Fresenius’ pipeline from 29 to as many as 66 molecules and targets more than €370 billion of originator sales. CEO Michael Sen said the deal provides a disciplined, scalable way to potentially triple the portfolio while retaining economic ownership. The company kept its full‑year 2026 guidance unchanged and reaffirmed its 2030 goal to double biopharma revenue at an EBIT margin of around 20%.

The agreement gives Fresenius exclusive global commercialization rights and full economics of any commercialised products, which could boost future revenue streams. Analysts note that the expanded pipeline supports the company’s 2030 revenue‑doubling target, potentially enhancing earnings growth for shareholders.
