Walmart and Symbotic expand partnership with $6 billion automation commitment

Walmart announced an expanded commercial agreement with Symbotic to automate 25 U.S. distribution centers. The retailer will allocate roughly $6 billion over multiple years to deploy Symbotic’s AI‑driven robotics and software solutions. The deal builds on more than a decade of collaboration between the two companies. Executives from both firms said the partnership will increase capacity, speed and lower costs across Walmart’s supply chain.

The $6 billion spend will fund new automation equipment at Walmart’s distribution network, potentially improving operational efficiency and margins for the retailer. Symbotic will gain a large, long‑term customer, which could boost its revenue growth.
