Tesla says Megapack storage backlog is nearly full through 2027

Tesla CEO Elon Musk told investors that the company’s Megapack battery‑storage product is almost completely booked for 2027, driven by strong demand from data‑center customers. CFO Vaibhav Taneja added that the demand is extreme and the firm is accelerating production at its Megafactory sites in Texas, California and Shanghai. The energy division posted a 33.1% gross margin, up from 20.4% in the prior quarter, while energy revenue fell 16% year over year to $2.88 billion.

The near‑sell‑out signals a robust revenue pipeline for Tesla’s energy business and may lift the outlook for future earnings, according to the company’s own comments. Production capacity constraints could affect the timing of order fulfillment for customers.
