BioMarin licenses investigational Fabry therapy from GC Biopharma and Hanmi

On Oct. 29, 2026, BioMarin entered an exclusive license agreement with GC Biopharma and Hanmi Pharm for HM15421/GC1134A, an investigational Fabry disease therapy. BioMarin will pay $70 million upfront and the partners may receive up to $405 million tied to development and commercial milestones, plus tiered royalties. The treatment is in a Phase 1/2 trial, with BioMarin receiving rights outside Korea and taking responsibility for later development, manufacturing and commercialization in those markets.

The agreement gives BioMarin another potential Fabry treatment while adding an immediate cash obligation and future milestone and royalty payments. The asset remains clinical-stage, so its commercial value depends on further trial progress and regulatory decisions.
