TTM Technologies to acquire MKS’s Ophir Optics business for $650 million

TTM Technologies announced a definitive agreement to buy the Ophir Optics unit from MKS Inc. for approximately $650 million in cash. The acquisition, which excludes the Ophir Instruments laser‑characterization business, is slated to close in the second quarter of 2027 pending customary regulatory approvals. TTM said the deal will be funded with cash on hand, anticipated cash flow and borrowings and is expected to be immediately accretive to its adjusted EBITDA margin and non‑GAAP diluted EPS.

The purchase adds high‑precision infrared and laser optics to TTM’s defense and industrial portfolio, expanding its product mix into mission‑critical subsystems. The company expects the transaction to boost margins and earnings per share, which could improve profitability metrics for investors.
