Oncolytics presents REO 033 colorectal cancer trial at ESMO 2026

Oncolytics Biotech presented a trial-in-progress abstract and e-poster for REO 033 at the ESMO Congress 2026 on Oct. 20, 2026. The randomized Phase 2 study is testing pelareorep with FOLFIRI and bevacizumab against FOLFIRI and bevacizumab alone in second-line RAS-mutant, MSS metastatic colorectal cancer, with thirty patients per arm. The primary endpoint is objective response rate, while overall survival, progression-free survival, duration of response, disease control and safety are secondary measures.

Oncolytics said recent FDA interactions could enable a pivotal REO 033 expansion, with accelerated approval potentially based on objective response rate and full approval based on progression-free survival. The presentation provides trial design details, but does not report new efficacy results from REO 033.

  • 1REO 033 is evaluating pelareorep plus FOLFIRI and bevacizumab versus FOLFIRI and bevacizumab in second-line RAS-mutant, microsatellite-stable metastatic colorectal cancer.
  • 2The study will randomize thirty patients per arm.
  • 3Objective response rate is the primary endpoint, with overall survival, progression-free survival, disease control rate, duration of response, safety and tolerability among the secondary endpoints.
  • 4Oncolytics said a pivotal expansion, Part B, could support an accelerated approval submission based on objective response rate and a full approval based on progression-free survival.
