Royal Caribbean to buy half of Sandals and Beaches Resorts in $3 billion joint venture

Royal Caribbean Group announced it will purchase a 50% ownership stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts for about $3 billion. The transaction is slated to close in early 2027, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Sandals and Beaches operate 21 all‑inclusive resorts across the Caribbean, while Royal Caribbean runs 71 cruise ships under its three brands. The deal will be overseen by Sandals executive chairman Adam Stewart and Royal Caribbean chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, who will share the joint‑venture board.

The company says the partnership will broaden its vacation platform and add roughly $159 million of equity investment income by fiscal 2027, which could lift earnings per share. Jefferies highlighted the deal in its upgrade of Royal Caribbean, noting it improves the firm’s growth outlook and supports a new $330 price target.
