Ripple launches its RLUSD stablecoin on Coinbase platforms

Ripple and Coinbase announced a partnership that makes Ripple's dollar‑backed stablecoin RLUSD available to retail and institutional customers on Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and the Coinbase retail app. The token can be deposited, withdrawn and traded on the XRP Ledger, Ethereum and Coinbase’s Base network, with Ripple providing on‑chain liquidity for Base. Executives Jack McDonald of Ripple and Brett Tejpaul of Coinbase highlighted the move as a response to growing institutional demand for regulated digital dollars.

The listing gives Coinbase a new dollar‑linked asset, potentially increasing trading volume and custody revenue, while Ripple gains broader U.S. distribution for RLUSD. Analysts note that the addition could boost Coinbase’s stablecoin‑related fees, though no specific forecast was provided in the materials.
