Braveheart Bio and Hengrui Pharma present 52‑week data on HRS/BHB‑1893 in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Braveheart Bio and its partner Hengrui Pharma reported results from a 52‑week open‑label extension of a Phase 2 study of the cardiac myosin inhibitor HRS/BHB‑1893 in 42 patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The extension showed higher exercise capacity, better symptom scores and a large share of patients achieving a low LVOT gradient. The companies will discuss the data at an investor webcast and plan a fixed‑dose Phase 2b trial.

The company said the durability of efficacy and tolerability strengthens confidence to advance the program in China, which could expand the drug’s market opportunity.

  • 1The extension enrolled all 42 patients from the original Phase 2 core study.
  • 2At week 52, average peak oxygen uptake rose by 2.7 mL·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹ from the extension baseline.
  • 3The Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire Clinical Summary Score increased by a mean of 17.3 points over the same period.
  • 4Seventy‑nine percent of patients recorded a Valsalva LVOT gradient below 30 mmHg at week 52.
  • 5No severe or serious adverse events occurred during the 52‑week extension; all treatment‑emergent events were mild or moderate.
  • 6Braveheart Bio will host an investor webcast at 3:35 p.m. CT to discuss the data and a planned Phase 2b fixed‑dose study.
