Vistra completes $4 billion Cogentrix Energy acquisition, adding 5,500 MW

Vistra Corp. closed its purchase of Cogentrix Energy on Oct. 30, 2026, acquiring 10 natural‑gas power plants that provide roughly 5,500 MW of capacity in PJM, ISO New England and ERCOT.
