Teva and Sanofi report sustained 44‑week efficacy of duvakitug in ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Sanofi presented data from the RELIEVE UCCD phase 2b long‑term extension study, showing that duvakitug maintained high rates of clinical remission, response and endoscopic improvement through week 44 in both ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD). The study enrolled 130 patients (72 UC, 58 CD) who were randomized to 450 mg or 900 mg sub‑cutaneous doses every four weeks. Efficacy was numerically higher at the 900 mg dose, and the safety profile remained consistent with the induction phase. Both companies said the results support progression of duvakitug into phase 3 trials.

Analysts note the strong durability of response could give duvakitug a competitive edge in the anti‑TL1A market. The data may boost investor sentiment, as reflected by Sanofi’s share rise of 4.11% and Teva’s modest decline of 0.41% after the release.

  • 1The RELIEVE UCCD LTE study included 130 patients (72 UC, 58 CD) who responded to duvakitug in a 14‑week induction phase.
  • 2In UC, clinical remission at week 44 was 47% with 450 mg and 58% with 900 mg.
  • 3In UC, clinical response at week 44 was 82% with 450 mg and 87% with 900 mg.
  • 4In CD, endoscopic response at week 44 was 41% with 450 mg and 55% with 900 mg.
  • 5In CD, clinical remission at week 44 was 81% with 450 mg and 84% with 900 mg.
  • 6Adverse‑event discontinuation rates were low (UC 4%/2% for 450 mg/900 mg; CD 6% for each arm).
