Paramount Skydance completes Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition

Paramount Skydance completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on 6 October, creating the combined media group Skydance. David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz will lead the new company, which brings together major film, television, streaming and news assets. The closing followed regulatory settlements that included film-release commitments and news-independence safeguards.

The transaction combines two major Hollywood studios and their streaming and television assets under one owner. The settlement requires Skydance to maintain specified film output for five years, making execution on production commitments a concrete condition of the combined company’s operations.
