PuraPly AM study reports better 12-week ulcer healing with standard care

Organogenesis said on Oct. 12, 2026 that the Journal of Wound Care published results from its PREPARE1 study of PuraPly AM used alongside standard care. In the prospective, multicenter randomized trial, the combination produced better wound closure than standard care alone after 12 weeks and achieved the study's primary objective. The company said the findings could support future coverage decisions for PuraPly AM.

Organogenesis expects the published clinical evidence to help support future coverage decisions for PuraPly AM. Any resulting coverage changes could affect the product's reimbursement and commercial prospects, but no decision has been announced.

  • 1PREPARE1 was a prospective, multicenter, randomized controlled trial comparing PuraPly AM plus standard of care with standard of care alone in hard-to-heal diabetic foot ulcers.
  • 2The study results were published in the Journal of Wound Care on Oct. 12, 2026.
  • 3At the 12-week assessment, the study recorded statistically significant gains in wound closure for patients receiving PuraPly AM with standard care.
  • 4Organogenesis Chief Operating Officer Patrick Bilbo said the evidence is expected to form the basis for future coverage decisions for PuraPly AM.
