Toyota North America sets January leadership succession

Toyota Motor North America said on November 5 that Mark Templin will take over as president and CEO on January 1, 2027, with Hiroshi Nambu moving into the COO role. Ted Ogawa will remain chief executive through December 31, 2026, serve as a senior adviser from January through March 2027, and begin work as a Senior Fellow for Toyota Motor Corporation in April. Templin will oversee TMNA's North American activities, while Nambu is transferring from TMC's Business Planning & Operation division.

The transition changes TMNA's chief executive and operating officer at the start of 2027. Templin assumes responsibility for the region, Nambu takes the COO position, and Ogawa remains involved during the handover before moving to his new Toyota role.
