Zentalis reports interim OS data showing 15.8‑month median survival in Cyclin E1‑positive ovarian cancer patients

Zentalis Pharmaceuticals announced interim overall‑survival results from the Phase 2 DENALI Part 1b trial of azenosertib in platinum‑resistant ovarian cancer. Patients whose tumours were Cyclin E1‑positive (n=48) had a median OS of 15.8 months, versus 7.5 months for Cyclin E1‑negative patients (n=46). The data will be presented at the ESMO Congress on 23 Oct 2026 and support continuation of the biomarker‑selected DENALI Part 2 and Phase 3 ASPENOVA programs. The company expects a topline readout of DENALI Part 2 in the first half of 2027.

The survival signal suggests Cyclin E1 may be a predictive biomarker, which could help Zentalis pursue accelerated FDA approval for azenosertib. Management said the $174.6 million cash balance should fund operations into late 2027, giving investors runway while awaiting the Phase 2 readout.

  • 1Median overall survival was 15.8 months (95% CI 8.7‑17.8) in the Cyclin E1‑positive subgroup (n=48).
  • 2Median overall survival was 7.5 months (95% CI 5.8‑12.3) in the Cyclin E1‑negative subgroup (n=46).
  • 3DENALI Part 1b enrolled 102 patients, with 94 evaluable for Cyclin E1 status.
  • 4No new safety signals were observed in the interim analysis.
  • 5Zentalis expects to provide the topline readout of DENALI Part 2 in 1H 2027 (CEO Julie Eastland).
  • 6Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were $174.6 million at 30 June 2026, sufficient to fund operations into late 2027.
