Boeing forecasts China will need 9,240 new aircraft by 2045

Boeing released its 2026 China Commercial Market Outlook, projecting that China’s civil aviation fleet will more than double to over 9,800 aircraft by 2045. The forecast calls for 9,240 new aircraft deliveries, with 7,215 single‑aisle jets, 1,460 wide‑body jets and 560 new‑build or converted freighters. Boeing also expects 5% annual passenger‑traffic growth, $875 billion in related investment and 425,000 new aviation personnel over the next two decades.

The company says the outlook provides a long‑term demand base for Boeing and its supply chain in China, supporting future revenue and service contracts. Investors can expect sustained order flow for narrow‑body aircraft, which dominate the forecast, and significant aftermarket opportunities from the projected $875 billion investment.
