Ryanair announces €800 million share buyback and FY2027 passenger target

Ryanair said it expects to carry 214 million passengers in FY2027. The airline reported a 15% drop in profit to €2.15 billion for the first half of 2027, with traffic up 6% and fares down 4% because of higher fuel costs. It will begin an €800 million share buyback in February 2027. The company also warned that fuel costs could rise by about €2 billion in FY2028 and said it will offset the pressure with fare adjustments, labor‑cost measures and hedging.

The buyback returns capital to shareholders and could support the stock price. The profit decline and higher fuel cost outlook highlight cost pressures that may affect future earnings.
