Transocean adds $2.0 billion to offshore drilling backlog

Transocean reported new drilling awards, exercised options and extensions across rigs operating in Equatorial Guinea, the U.S. Gulf, India and Norway on November 2, 2026. The additions include a two-year Letter of Award from ONGC, contracts involving Deepwater Conqueror and Deepwater Proteus, and final approval from Equinor for three Norwegian semisubmersibles. The company said these firm fixtures added approximately $2.0 billion to backlog, bringing total backlog to approximately $8.0 billion.
