Indian indices surge as IT earnings lift market, HCL Tech posts 21.18% profit jump

On Tuesday the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty rallied 1.54% and 1.60% respectively, their biggest single‑day gains in four months. The rally was led by IT stocks after HCL Technologies reported a 21.18% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 5,132 crore for the July‑September quarter of FY27. HDFC Bank and other financial stocks also contributed to the upside, while the rupee strengthened and Brent crude fell.

The sharp index gains signal renewed investor confidence in Indian equities, especially the technology sector, which may attract further inflows. The higher profit figure for HCL Tech underscores strong margins from its AI operations, supporting expectations for continued sector earnings momentum.
