vTv completes enrollment for late-stage type 1 diabetes drug trial

vTv Therapeutics has finished enrolling its Phase 3 CATT1 trial of cadisegliatin, an investigational add-on treatment to insulin for type 1 diabetes. The study assigned 166 participants across two cadisegliatin dosing regimens and placebo, and vTv plans to disclose top-line findings in mid-2027. The trial will test whether the drug lowers serious low-blood-sugar episodes while assessing glucose-control measures and safety outcomes.

Enrollment completion moves vTv's lead candidate into the follow-up phase before a potentially material Phase 3 data release. The company says cadisegliatin could lower hypoglycemia risk, but the medicine's safety and effectiveness have not yet been established.

  • 1vTv Therapeutics completed enrollment in the Phase 3 CATT1 trial, with 166 patients assigned to treatment groups.
  • 2CATT1 compares cadisegliatin 800 mg once daily, cadisegliatin 800 mg twice daily, and placebo.
  • 3The trial's main measure is the occurrence of level 2 and level 3 hypoglycemia during the six-month study period.
  • 4vTv expects to report top-line CATT1 results in mid-2027.
  • 5The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted cadisegliatin Breakthrough Therapy designation as an insulin adjunct for T1D.
