J.B. Hunt reports Q3 revenue growth but narrower operating margin

J.B. Hunt Transport Services reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $3.68 billion, up 20%, while operating income increased 2% to $247.1 million. Diluted EPS rose 3% to $1.82 from $1.76. Operating margin fell to 6.7% from 7.9% a year earlier as higher transportation, insurance and personnel costs pressured profitability.

Revenue growth was strong, but the slower increase in operating income and lower margin reduce the earnings benefit of that growth. The company also reported lower debt and continued its share repurchase program, while the reported margin pressure weighed on the stock after hours.
