Accenture explores up to $1.5 billion sale of Greater China operations

Accenture is evaluating a divestiture of its Greater China business, which includes mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company has hired JPMorgan to run a strategic review and may retain a minority stake in the unit. It forecasts fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 3%‑6%, higher than analyst expectations. The potential transaction could bring as much as $1.5 billion in cash.

If the sale proceeds, Accenture would receive up to $1.5 billion, reducing its exposure to a market with tightening regulatory constraints and freeing capital for AI investments and buybacks. The cash inflow would also offset the $10 billion revenue contribution from its Asia‑Pacific segment, altering the company’s growth profile.
