Altimmune to present pemvidutide Phase 2b and preclinical data at AASLD 2026

Altimmune Inc. will unveil 48‑week results from its IMPACT Phase 2b study of pemvidutide in metabolic dysfunction‑associated steatohepatitis (MASH) at the AASLD meeting in Denver, November 5‑9, 2026. The trial showed reductions in liver stiffness, ELF score, liver fat and ALT versus placebo, with mild gastrointestinal side effects and fewer discontinuations. The company also disclosed preclinical data showing lower alcohol intake in a hamster model, announced the start of its PERFORMA Phase 3 MASH trial in July 2026, and reported completion of enrollment for the RESTORE Phase 2 alcohol‑associated liver disease trial in August 2026.

The positive Phase 2b outcomes and FDA Fast Track and Breakthrough Therapy designations suggest a clearer regulatory path and could lift Altimmune’s valuation, according to the company’s press release.
