Insmed begins Japanese sales of BRINSUPRI for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis

Insmed said on October 19, 2026 that BRINSUPRI Tablets 25 mg had entered commercial distribution in Japan for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. Japan's health ministry granted approval in August 2026, relying on Phase 3 ASPEN results, and the once-daily oral drug is authorized for adults and children aged 12 years and older. Insmed describes BRINSUPRI as Japan's first and only approved treatment specifically available for this condition.

The launch gives Insmed access to Japanese prescriptions for an indication with no previously approved therapy there, creating a new commercial market for BRINSUPRI. The treatment carries reported risks including skin and gum-related adverse reactions, which may affect prescribing and monitoring.
