Transocean amends credit facility and retires $165 million of notes, saving $22 million in interest

Transocean Ltd. announced that its subsidiary entered into an amended and restated credit agreement with Citibank and lenders. The amendment extends the revolving facility maturity to October 2031, raises the commitment limit to $750 million and modifies covenants. At the same time the company retired its 8.00% senior secured notes due 2028, paying the $165 million principal and saving about $22 million in future interest, with the changes pending the closing of its Valaris acquisition.

The note retirement reduces Transocean’s interest expense through maturity by roughly $22 million, improving cash flow. The larger, longer‑dated credit facility gives the company more financing flexibility ahead of the Valaris deal.
