NextDecade posts $155 M profit and readies first LNG output for Q2 2027

NextDecade reported a net profit of $155.38 million for 2026, reversing a $109.48 million loss in 2025, while still reporting zero revenue for the year. The company said Phase I construction is ahead of schedule and that first LNG production from Train 1 is expected in the second quarter of 2027. It also converted more than $7 billion of Phase I bank borrowings into senior secured notes and kept a long exposure of 1,100 TBtu of uncontracted volumes during the ramp‑up period.

The company expects the Q2 2027 start of LNG production to generate cash flow after a year with no revenue, which could improve its financial position. The refinancing of over $7 billion of debt into senior secured notes extends maturities and frees bank capacity for future financing, according to the company's statements.
