Salesforce to acquire AI research platform Listen Labs for about $2 billion

On 29 September 2026 Salesforce announced a definitive agreement to buy Listen Labs, a San Francisco‑based AI‑driven customer‑research startup. The purchase price is reported at roughly $2 billion, a multiple of about 67 times Listen Labs’ annual revenue. The transaction is slated to be completed in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.

The company says the deal will embed autonomous research agents into Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud, shortening research cycles from months to days and strengthening its AI portfolio. Analyst commentary in Futurum Group notes the acquisition could help Salesforce protect its 34.1% CRM market share and capture more of the growing enterprise‑software market.
