FDA clears Abbott CardioMEMS updates that let patients view heart pressure via a new app

Abbott Laboratories received FDA approval for enhancements to its CardioMEMS HF System. The updates add a patient‑facing CardioGuide HF mobile app that displays pulmonary artery pressure readings and a Dynamic Treatment Plan feature that can send personalized medication instructions. Abbott said the software will be rolled out to U.S. patients later in 2026.

The approval enables Abbott to offer a digital tool that may improve heart‑failure management by giving patients earlier insight into pressure changes, which could reduce hospitalizations.
