U.S. finalizes high duties on Chinese trailer imports, Canada and Mexico cases pending

Wabash reported that the U.S. International Trade Commission issued final antidumping and countervailing duties on Chinese van‑type trailers. The Chinese duties are 129.73% antidumping and 134.75% countervailing, stacking with a 25% Section 232 steel and aluminum tariff. Preliminary duties have been posted for Canada (4.29% antidumping) and Mexico (7.10% antidumping, 1.91% countervailing). Final decisions for Canada and Mexico are expected around December 17, 2026.

Wabash estimates the stacked duties add about $101,300 to each Chinese trailer, which could raise domestic trailer prices and benefit U.S. manufacturers such as Wabash.
