Ocugen grants MENA rights for OCU400 gene therapy

On October 14, 2026, Ocugen entered an exclusive licensing arrangement with Roots Pharmaceutical and Al-Dhow International Holding covering OCU400 for the Middle East and North Africa. The agreement provides Ocugen with an upfront fee and initial development payments of up to $4 million, potential sales-based milestones of up to $255 million, and royalties of 22% on net sales. Ocugen remains responsible for making and delivering the therapy, while topline results from its Phase 3 liMeliGhT trial are expected in the first quarter of 2027.

The deal gives Ocugen a regional commercialization partner and creates potential milestone and royalty income if OCU400 is successfully developed, approved, and adopted. Ocugen will retain the product supply role, while the key near-term clinical catalyst is the planned Phase 3 readout in the first quarter of 2027.
