Apollo launches European Credit Company with €10 billion lending capacity

On 2 Nov 2026 Apollo Global Management announced the creation of European Credit Company (ECC), a dedicated platform for corporate and asset‑backed loans across Europe. The vehicle starts with more than €10 billion of lending capacity and is funded by Apollo together with the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, Athora, Norinchukin Bank, Standard Chartered and Aranda Principal Strategies. Giacomo Petrobelli was named chief executive and Christian Meissner chairman, and the firm will operate from Frankfurt, Jersey, London, Luxembourg City and Milan, with plans to add more locations.

The new platform gives Apollo a foothold in the growing European private‑credit market and could generate additional fee income once the €10 billion is deployed, according to the filing that notes earnings impact will depend on deployment speed. The launch also adds a sizable €10 billion balance‑sheet commitment at a time when Apollo’s quarterly earnings have been volatile.
