Fresenius Medical Care appoints Shervin J. Korangy as new CEO and board chair

Fresenius Medical Care announced that Shervin J. Korangy will assume the roles of chief executive officer and chairman of the management board on 12 October 2026, replacing Helen Giza. Korangy, 51, previously led BVI Medical from 2017 until early 2026 and has served on Fresenius’ supervisory board since 2023. The transition follows the completion of the FME25+ transformation that cut the cost base by roughly EUR 1.2 billion.

The company’s shares fell about 7% after the news, reflecting market concern over the leadership change. The new CEO is expected to drive further growth and innovation, but short‑term price pressure may affect investors holding the ADR (FMS).
