Boeing production disruption follows Vaero wing-part supply dispute

Boeing halted 777 freighter assembly for nearly two months after Vaero stopped shipping trailing-edge rib kits, disrupting the 767 program and KC-46 tanker output. Vaero shipments have since resumed, but Boeing CFO Jay Malave said the resulting production gap will continue moving through the assembly system over the next few quarters. Boeing's complaint said the disruption was costing as much as $6.5 million a day, while the company had delivered 21 777 freighters in 2026.

The interruption may delay aircraft deliveries and create abnormal production expenses over the next few quarters. Boeing is also seeking to make the affected components internally, which could reduce future reliance on Vaero.
