Insider Radar — Week of August 10, 2026
Insider selling climbed to $6.15 billion in the week of August 10, the heaviest weekly total in ten weeks, and the biggest blocks were private equity sponsors leaving at negotiated prices: Corebridge, First Advantage, OPENLANE, Savers Value Village, Life Time. Reported buying rose 70% to $501.7 million, the most in nine weeks, but nearly half of it is one holder, Bill Gates's Cascade Investment adding $218.7 million of Republic Services. The cleanest individual signals: Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan bought $10.0 million of stock at $95.00, and John Malone added $13.6 million of Liberty Capital. Scheduled plans did $1.45 billion of the selling, about 24% of open-market sales.

Selling hit $6.15 billion, and the biggest blocks were sponsor exits at fixed prices
Insiders and large holders disposed of $6.15B across 1,161 events, up from $5.06B the week before and the heaviest weekly total since the week of June 1. As usual, the raw total double-counts co-filed blocks. Ares Management reported the same $235.8M Savers Value Village (SVV) sale at $10.25 in two identical filings. The $220.9M Life Time (LTH) block at $43.16 appears three times, filed by Green LTF Holdings II and by directors John Danhakl and John Kristofer Galashan over the same shares. The $143.6M Innovex (INVX) block at $28.71 is co-filed by Innovex Co-Invest Fund and Amberjack Capital. Count each of those blocks once and the week stands near $5.33B. DST Global Advisors also filed paired identical sales at Chime (CHYM) again, $33.4M and $39.8M each reported twice.
What distinguishes the week is how much of the selling was sponsors leaving at a single negotiated price. Argon Holdco, a 10% holder of Corebridge Financial (CRBD), sold $491.1M at a flat $33.87 on August 10, the week's largest disposition. SLTA V (GP), the Silver Lake vehicle behind First Advantage (FA), sold $275.2M at $22.02. Ignition Acquisition Holdings took $274.9M out of OPENLANE (OPLN) at $34.36, Ares sold the $235.8M Savers block, the Leonard Green vehicle exited $220.9M of Life Time, and TPG took $144.9M out of LifeStance (LFST) at $10.62. Single-price blocks of that size are secondaries and block trades, not insiders reacting to the tape. The largest seller actually trading into the market was Magnetar Financial, which continued its CoreWeave (CRWV) sell-down with filings of $231.6M and $213.8M on August 12 and 13 at prices between $107.64 and $115.61; the ticker's week totals $529.9M across eight filings from Magnetar and three executives.
Scheduled plans did $1.45B of the selling, about 24% of open-market sales. Sea (SE) chairman and chief executive Li Xiaodong sold $137.3M at $125.53 to $131.27 under a plan, and Arista Networks (ANET) chief executive Jayshree Ullal filed another $119.4M of scheduled sales after last week's $221.2M. The largest unscheduled individual sale was Twilio (TWLO) director Andrew Stafman at $123.5M, a single block at a flat $247.08.

Buying rose 70%, but nearly half of it is one holder
Reported buying came to $501.7M across 358 events, up from $295.1M the week before and the highest weekly total in nine weeks. Nearly 44% of it is a single buyer. Cascade Investment, the holding company of Bill Gates and a longtime 10% owner of Republic Services (RSG), added $218.7M of the stock across three filings between August 10 and 14, paying $213.70 to $217.18 on the open market. A large holder averaging into a position it has held for years is accumulation rather than a fresh signal, but the size and the market prices set it apart from the financing rows that usually top this list.
Those financing rows are still here. MapLight Therapeutics (MPLT) shows $50.1M from Catalyst4 at a flat $11.38. Pinnacle Acquisition (PNAQ-UN), a blank-check vehicle, logged $29.8M of unit purchases from six filers at exactly $10.00, half of it from chief executive Steven Hudson. BlossomHill Therapeutics (BLSM) shows $25.1M at a flat $16.00, though the two largest entries, OrbiMed Advisors and its partner Carl Gordon, report the same 625,000-share block twice. Walters Group put $15.2M into Zentalis (ZNTL) at a flat $3.50. Those four fixed-price names total $120.2M, about 24% of the week's buying: money committed at negotiated prices, not conviction on the tape.
The open-market conviction list is headed by two very recognisable names. John Malone bought $13.6M of Liberty Capital (GLIBA) Series C shares at $24.51 to $25.57 across August 10 to 12. Intel (INTC) chief executive Lip-Bu Tan bought $10.0M of common stock at exactly $95.00 on August 11, the week's most prominent corporate purchase. Behind them, American Assets Trust (AAT) executive chairman Ernest Rady added $7.8M across two filings, Borr Drilling (BORR) director Tor Olav Troim paid $6.0M at $4.02, and six filers put $8.2M into Cardinal Infrastructure (CDNL) on a single day, led by chief executive Jeremy Spivey at $3.2M. 51Talk (COE) chief executive Jack Jiajia Huang extended his scheduled buying with $15.7M at $19.61 to $20.17, his second straight week above $10M, filed under a plan. At Aptiv (APTV), chair and chief executive Kevin Clark bought $2.5M at $48.89, following director Paul Meister's $5.0M purchase the week before.

Methodology
Source data is public SEC Form 4 filings collected by AlphaAI, covering transactions dated August 10 through August 16, 2026. Transactions are grouped into events by filing, issuer and ownership form, so a sale executed in many tranches under one filing counts once rather than inflating the count. Event groups summing above $1 billion are excluded, because at that size the row is almost always a merger, tender or reorganisation rather than a discretionary trade; no event hit that cap this week. Purchases are P-code transactions, disposals are S and D codes. Where related filers co-file the same block (the Savers Value Village sale reported twice by Ares Management, the Life Time block reported by Green LTF Holdings II and two directors, the Innovex block reported by Innovex Co-Invest Fund and Amberjack Capital, and the BlossomHill purchase reported by both OrbiMed Advisors and Carl Gordon), the duplicate is flagged in prose and the table rather than silently summed. Activity filed under 10b5-1 plans is split out, because those trades are scheduled months ahead and say nothing about what a seller thinks now. Roles come from the officer, director and 10 percent holder flags on the filing itself. Values are shares multiplied by the reported price, with no currency normalisation, so filings by foreign issuers priced in a local currency are screened out of the tables by hand; none needed screening this week. The recent median sell to buy ratio covers the twenty-six preceding weeks, each with more than $10 million of reported buying. Prior-week comparisons are recomputed from the current database, which keeps accreting late filings, so they can differ slightly from figures as originally published (the prior issue's $269.4 million of buying now stands at $295.1 million). The window was pulled on August 20, after the two-business-day filing deadline for every transaction date in it had passed; per-day filing counts across the window were flat, with no cut tail. This is a readout of public filings and not investment advice.
