A deal-day purchase at XCF Global and Nippon Life's Corebridge buying were 59% of the total

Reported buying came to $349.7M across 138 events, above the $255.5M median of the preceding twenty-six weeks. Two 10% holders account for $205.4M of it, 59%. Officers and directors filing in their own names bought $129.8M across 83 events.

The largest line is XCF Global (SAFX). EEME Energy SPV I, LLC, a 10% holder, reported buying 119,397,857.6 Class A shares at a flat $1.19 on October 16, $142.1M, and 228,897,417.6 shares afterwards. It is the first purchase recorded for the ticker in our data, which until then held only sales by another 10% holder at $0.12 to $0.52 in the first half of the year, and it falls on the day the company reported closing a two-party business combination. A fractional share count at one price on a closing date has the shape of shares issued in a transaction, so it is reported here and not read as conviction. Without it, buying was $207.6M and the ratio 6.0 to 1.

Nippon Life added $63.4M of Corebridge Financial (CRBD) across all five sessions at $32.80 to $34.71, its sixth straight week of purchases, and its filings mark them as made under a 10b5-1 plan. Without both of these holders, buying was $144.3M and the ratio 8.6 to 1, still below the median. The other 10% holder entities were small, led by Tether Global Investments Fund with $3.9M of Gold.com (GOLD) at $39.63 to $39.92 over three sessions.

The individual buying is led by Pampa Energy (PAM), where director and 10% holder Marcos Marcelo Mindlin bought 435,000 ADSs at $80.78 on October 15, $35.1M. PepsiCo (PEP) director Robert C. Pohlad bought 184,646 shares at $128.28 on October 14, $23.7M, reported in the indirect form across four lines. GameStop (GME) president, CEO and chairman Ryan Cohen bought 844,130 shares at $26.75 to $27.00 on October 13, $22.8M, and reported 42,492,652 shares afterwards. Borr Drilling (BORR) director Tor Olav Trøim bought 2,750,000 shares from October 13 to 15 at $4.60 to $4.93, $13.2M, after $29.8M the week before, and reported 40,117,808 shares. The rest of the BORR line is chief operating officer Harvey Snowling, who bought 300,000 shares and sold 300,000 at the same $4.91 on October 14. At Applied Digital (APLD), president Jason Zhang bought 300,000 shares at $18.86 on October 16, $5.7M, and CEO and chairman Wes Cummins 55,803 at $18.04. Bluerock Private Real Estate Fund (BPRE) director Ramin Kamfar and two other insiders bought $7.9M at $12.39 to $12.96.

Three purchases came at flat offering-style prices and are named so they are not read as market conviction. Iambic Therapeutics (IAM) director Evan Rachlin bought 718,750 shares at a flat $16.00 on October 16, $11.5M, the shape of an offering allocation. Frazier Life Sciences Acquisition (FLSC), a blank-check company, had chief executive Albert Cha buy 300,000 Class A shares at $10.00, $3.0M. Alexandria Venture Investments, a 10% holder of TRex Bio (TRXB), bought 178,571 shares at $14.00, $2.5M.

Selling fell to a twelve-week low, and three sellers were 86% of the open-market selling outside plans

Insiders and large holders sold $1.25B across 544 events, the smallest weekly total of the last twelve weeks. The previous low in that run was $2.09B in the week of September 21, and the median of the preceding twenty-six weeks is $2.97B. Filings did not fall with it: 580 had a reported value, against 593 the week before. Against $349.7M of buying the selling is 3.6 to 1, below the 11.7 median. The middle half of those twenty-six weeks sat between 5.1 and 22.3, and the full range runs from 0.9 to 42.2. For the week of October 5 the settled figures, after the same grouping and co-filed correction, are $173.2M of buying and $3.00B of selling, a ratio of 17.3.

Of the selling, $639.6M, 51%, was under 10b5-1 plans. Another $99.1M was D-code disposals back to issuers, and nearly all of it comes from two corporate events. Fourteen Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) insiders reported 15 dispositions at $2.43 on October 14, $45.1M in all, the day the company completed its acquisition by Mubadala Capital; chief executive Scott Wells accounts for $14.8M. Acushnet (GOLF) holder Misto Holdings and three affiliated filers reported 583,527 shares disposed to the company at $89.9719 on October 15, $52.5M, a disposition to the issuer; Acushnet disclosed a stock repurchase agreement in an 8-K in June. Neither block is open-market selling.

The remaining $509.1M was open-market selling outside any plan, and $437.1M of that, 86%, is three sellers. Elastic (ESTC) director Steven Schuurman sold 2,000,000 shares at $94.15 on October 12, $188.3M, and reported 2,504,600 afterwards. The week before he sold 1,500,000 at $90.13, so the two weeks total $323.5M. Control Empresarial de Capitales, a 10% holder of Talos Energy (TALO), sold 7,917,446 shares on all five sessions at $17.01 to $17.51, $137.1M, after $77.0M by the same holder the week before, and reported 26,641,590 shares. ISQ Global Fund II GP, a 10% holder of Kinetik (KNTK), sold 2,038,377 shares on October 12 and 13 at $54.19 to $54.77, $111.6M. Beyond Schuurman, discretionary sales by officers and directors were small, led by Everpure (P) director Scott Dietzen, $8.5M.

The largest scheduled sales came from a range of sectors. At Everpure, chief visionary officer John Colgrove sold $45.4M under a plan at $141.31 to $157.05, within $67.4M of selling at the company. Wayfair (W) director Steven Conine and chief executive Niraj Shah sold $20.3M each, and Hinge Health (HNGE) director Gabriel Mecklenburg sold $20.6M on October 12 at $101.53 to $104.34. UiPath (PATH) CEO and chairman Daniel Dines sold $33.1M, Japan Post Holdings sold $26.2M of Aflac (AFL), United Therapeutics (UTHR) chairperson and CEO Martine Rothblatt sold $25.8M on all five sessions, and Micron (MU) president and chief technology and products officer Scott DeBoer sold $25.7M at $900.00 to $902.01, all under plans.

Source data is public SEC Form 4 filings collected by AlphAI, covering transactions dated October 12 through October 18, 2026: 580 filings with a reported value, and 563 filings across 338 tickers after the exclusions below. Transactions are grouped into events by ticker, filing, ownership form, transaction code and date, so a sale executed in many tranches under one filing counts once rather than inflating the count. Purchases are P-code transactions, disposals are S and D codes. Event groups summing above $1 billion are excluded, because at that size the row is almost always a merger, tender or reorganisation rather than a discretionary trade; this week the cap removed nothing. Where several related filers report the same block, only one copy is counted: filings are collapsed when the ticker, date, transaction code, security title, share count and value all match, keeping the direct filer's copy where there is one. That correction removed $197.6 million across 17 groups, all but a $1,000 purchase on the sell side, the largest being three extra copies of the $52.5 million Acushnet (GOLF) repurchase filed by Misto Holdings and members of the Yoon family, and four extra copies of a $9.8 million Bumble (BMBL) sale filed by Blackstone entities. Two sales are excluded because the recorded dollar figure does not describe the trade. Nuveen Municipal Credit Income Fund (NZF): 16,131 shares recorded at $1,093.00, $17.6 million, while another insider's sale two days earlier was at $10.755 and the fund has traded between $10 and $13 in our data; the recorded price is about one hundred times too high. ASE Technology (ASX): 3,000 ordinary shares at 752, $2.3 million, a price in New Taiwan dollars while the data records US dollars. Together they remove $19.9 million of sales; with them included the ratio would still read 3.6 to 1. Activity filed under 10b5-1 plans is split out, because those trades are scheduled months ahead and say nothing about what a seller thinks now. D-code disposals back to an issuer are reported separately from open-market selling. Roles come from the officer, director and 10 percent holder flags on the filing itself, and titles are used only where the filing supplies one. Prices above $500 a share on the largest rows (Micron, United Therapeutics, TransDigm, Spotify and others) were checked against the same tickers' own filings over the previous ten weeks. The recent median sell to buy ratio covers the twenty-six preceding weeks that each had more than $10 million of reported buying, and those weeks ranged from 0.9 to 42.2, so a single week's ratio should be read against that spread rather than on its own. Filing coverage matured over the first half of 2026, so week to week comparisons are more reliable than comparisons with the spring. This is a readout of public filings and not investment advice.
